This Day in History
On this day in 1867, the United States formally took possession of Alaska after purchasing the territory from Russia for $7.2 million, or less than two cents an acre. Now I am aware of the fact that this transaction for such a beautiful part of the world was a tremendous deal and I am sure that the majority of the state's residents are wonderful individuals. However, based on what I know about and have seen from a certain Alaskan family, is it too late for us to give the territory back?
